Dopo aver partecipato alla IV edizione del Festival Internazionale del Film di Roma, all’interno della sezione L’Altro Cinema|Extra, il prossimo 7 aprile il film Simon Konianski sarà presentato in anteprima alla Casa del Cinema di Roma (Sala Deluxe). Il film uscirà nelle sale venerdì 9 aprile, distribuito da Fandango.

Prime partite di calcio trasmesse in 3D TV. L’esclusiva Belgacom
La partita di calcio tra Charleroi e Lokeren è stata trasmessa in 3D con la compagnia di servizi Outside Broadcast che ha seguito la ripresa delle immagini 3D. Il test è stato “molto concludente”, afferma MSO Cablecom. ”La nuova tecnologia 3D, in particolare nel caso del calcio, offre una vera e nuova esperienza televisiva per i telespettatori e apre prospettive entusiasmanti per il futuro. Belgacom è lieta di annunciare che, dopo questa prova, e grazie ai suoi partner Outside Broadcast e Samsung, sarà offerta la prima ripresa di immagini 3D di un evento in Belgio il prossimo 8 maggio”. Belgacom, partner del calcio belga, riprenderà la partita Anderlecht Saint Tr e lo trasmetterà in diretta su una serie di schermi distribuiti in alcuni Jupiler bar e caffè.

Dopo l’accordo di successo stipulato nel 2009 per la fornitura dei proiettori digitali NEC nelle sale Odeon presenti in tutta Europa, oggi Odeon sceglie NEC per aumentare la sua leadership nelle sale in 3D. Attualmente fanno parte del Gruppo Odeon 200 cinema per un totale di 1.800 schermi distribuiti tra Inghilterra, Germania, Spagna, Italia e Portogallo: la più grande catena di cinema del mondo al di fuori del Nord America.

L’emittente televisiva Skylife, che trasmette da Seoul in Corea del Sud, trasmetterà alcuni sport in 3D a partire da maggio. In programma anche il lancio di due canali per la trasmissione di film in 3D entro il 2012. The Korea Times riferisce che Skylife Won5 sta investendo milioni di euro in tecnologia 3D per consentire la realizzazione di questo tipo di trasmissioni. Il CEO di Skylife, Lee Mong-Ryong, ha affermato in conferenza stampa a Se0ul che: “La maggior parte del bilancio sarà utilizzato per acquistare le apparecchiature necessarie per le trasmissioni. Da maggio, avremo qualche copertura live dello sport e il tempo dedicato al 3D passerà alle 7 ore giornaliere”.

Il produttore internazionale Samsung ha lanciato il primo set 3D TV in Spagna a 1.500 € per unità. Dal 8 aprile il gigante della tecnologia lancerà una campagna pubblicitaria per promuovere questa tecnologia sul mercato spagnolo. I primi cinque modelli saranno distribuiti nei negozi dal 31 marzo. Ci sono tre schermi a LED da 40, 46 e 55 pollici e due plasma da 50 e 63 pollici. ”La nostra scommessa per il nuovo mercato è decisiva”, ha dichiarato Marcos García, Consumer Elettronica Manager presso la filiale spagnola. Samsung prevede di lanciare tre nuovi modelli in maggio ed altri 13 entro la fine di quest’anno.

VISLINK is providing portable broadcast equipment for the British Forces Makalu 2010 expedition, where climbers plan to conquer one of the most hostile peaks in the Himalayas.
The objective of the Makalu 2010 expedition is for the team of six climbers to place at least two members on the summit and return safely back to Base Camp. VISLINK’s wireless camera will enable the video records of the climb which will be used for the blog, Twitter, UK local news, video streaming and documentaries. The team will depart for Kathmandu on 23rd March and return to the UK on 7th June.
Mount Makalu is comparable with K2 in technical difficulty and considered a harder climb than the SW Ridge of Everest.
“More people have stood on the moon than have reached the summit of Makalu via the treacherous and rarely climbed SE Ridge,” says Lt Cdr Paul Hart, who will be responsible for filming and photography during the ascent. “If we are successful, we will be the first British team to do it.”
VISLINK is providing a complete RF system for the video link between the ascent team and base camp. The communications equipment comprises two LINK XPu wireless camera systems, complete with transmitter, antennas and receivers, the two cameras are a Sony Go-Pro and a compact Bullet camera, which will be attached to a helmet “helmet-cam” for the final stage of the ascent to the summit. The team will use these to create video footage and a video blog of the climb.
The Communications Officer for the Makalu 2010 expedition, Surgeon Lt Simon Hornby will remain at Base Camp and talk to the climbers by radio, and record their experiences of the climb for the expedition blog and website. From Base Camp, the expedition will use a high powered satellite phone and Livewire services over BGAN to send video back to the MOD and BFPO TV.
“VISLINK has been the technical authority in all aspects of planning for the successful delivery of video footage off the mountain. VISLINK’s equipment will allow us to relay live footage back to the base camp from helmet cameras. When the video has been received at the base camp, the base camp team will edit the footage and send back video diaries to the UK via satellite using the Livewire M-Link media streaming service,” explains Lt Cdr Paul Hart.

La scorsa settimana nel corso di ShoWest 2010, Sony Electronics ha annunciato di aver concluso un accordo con cui i sistemi di proiezione cinematografica digitale 4k Sony Digital saranno utilizzati sia da AMC Entertainment Inc. che dalle sale Regal Entertainment Group in tutti gli Stati Uniti. Si tratta di due dei più grandi gruppi di multisala del Nord America. “Siamo lieti che AMC e Regal abbiano riconosciuto i benefici della tecnologia 4K di Sony ed ora stiamo andando avanti “, ha affermato Gary Johns, vicepresidente della Sony Digital Cinema Systems Division.

Last week at ShoWest 2010, Sony Electronics announced it has entered into purchase agreements with Digital Cinema Implementation Partners, under which Sony Digital Cinema 4K projection systems will be deployed to both AMC Entertainment Inc. and Regal Entertainment Group theatres across the United States.
AMC and Regal are the two largest theater chains in North America.

“We are pleased that AMC and Regal have recognized the benefits of Sony’s 4K technology and we are now moving forward,” said Gary Johns, vice president of Sony’s Digital Cinema Systems Division. “AMC and Regal’s commitment to Sony 4K will significantly accelerate the expansion of digital cinema, and also enable exhibitors to provide their customers with a more dynamic and immersive movie-going experience on a much broader scale.”
Both AMC and Regal plan to install the Sony 4K systems across their circuits, creating the most extensive 4K deployment to date, with many of the screens planned to be outfitted for 3D using a combination of Sony and RealD 3D projection technology.
“We believe digital cinema enables the future for our industry, as it provides us versatility and delivers our guests a better entertainment experience,” said Gerry Lopez, president and CEO of AMC. “Sony’s 4K digital systems take the customer experience to the next level. We are proud to install their systems in our circuit.”
“Regal Entertainment Group selected Sony 4K systems because they provide the highest resolution possible for a picture-perfect presentation,” said Amy Miles, CEO of Regal Entertainment Group. “Regal is now poised to expedite our nationwide digital rollout of Sony 4K projectors and 3D technology. Regal continues to accelerate the expansion of RealD locations and our capacity for presenting 3D movies. Digital 3D movies have already proven to be a big hit at Regal’s box offices. Patrons have enthusiastically responded to our Sony 4K projectors for a truly state-of-the-art experience.”
Sony 4K projectors offer the highest image resolution of commercial cinema projection technologies in the market, producing 8.8 million pixels. 4K technology provides image resolution approximately four times greater than 2K projection systems and consumer high-definition televisions.
The digital projection systems deployed by DCIP will comply with the technical and security specifications developed by the Digital Cinema Initiatives, LLC. DCIP has executed long-term deployment agreements with Twentieth Century Fox, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Universal Pictures, and Lionsgate Films.

Il regista James Cameron ha intenzione di rilanciare Titanic, la sua prima importante creatura, in 3D. Il premio Oscar supervisionerà la conversione della hit del 1997, dopo l’enorme successo del pionieristico Avatar. Gli effetti speciali saranno ovviamente aggiunti alle scene del giovane Leonardo DiCaprio grazie ai più avanzati strumenti informatici. Ciò sarà reso più facile dal fatto molte delle riprese originali, esterne ed interne, sono state generate in digitale.

Partite di calcio in 3D al pub. Oltre mille locali in UK
Sono oltre 1000 i pub ed i bar che tra Regno Unito e Irlanda hanno aderito al nuovo servizio 3D di BSkyB. Ad inaugurare il servizio la partita di campionato di calcio Manchester United vs Chelsea il 3 aprile. Dopo il lancio del canale il prossimo aprile, Sky mostrerà almeno altre cinque Premier League, che saranno annunciate prima della fine della stagione in corso, e domenica 9 maggio saranno in onda e in 3D live le finali del Coca-Cola Football League Play-Off dallo stadio di Wembley.
